I once read that Yorkies are either 1 person dogs or they love everyone..........Make sure that when they pick him up etc, they get down to his level so it's not so freightening for them. For a yorkie looking up they see this big thing reaching down and maybe he's a little scared.
The trainer I go to said always do thing down at their level at first so they are not scared - hope this helps
