When I open my front door, my Yorkie wants to go outside so badly he won't stop barking or circling until I shut the front door and walk away from it. As long as it is open and I'm by it like I'm going out, he is there barking LOUDLY expressing HIS will to go outside. And when I try to go outside, he tries to dart out underneath my feet when I still tell him no, to sit and stay. It's like I'm talking to a brick wall. Any other time, I could give him the command to sit and stay and he'd have no problem with it. Last night, before I fed him, I had him do a stay for almost two minutes with his food right in front of him. He stayed no problem, then I praised him and petted him and gave him the command to have his food.
How do I correct this behavior at the door???
