I understand that a lot of pet stores source their puppies from puppy mills, but it doesn't mean that all of them do this. I just got tired of seeing people assume that all pet stores were the same; getting their puppies from mills. |
Months later - sheesh! In case anyone reads this - I never said ALL pet stores get their dogs from puppy mills, I said MOST. I know this because I work part-time for the Humane Society, so unfortunately I know better than most who have responded to this post. And as far as having "breeder information" on a card by the puppies in the pet stores, we find that only a small percentage (I'm talking less than 3%) come from decent (not reputable) breeders. Most "breeders" who sell to pet stores are commonly called "backyard breeders", and let me tell you - NO backyard breeder I've seen has living conditions that are fit for even a cockroach!
In other words, I don't "ASSUME" that all pet stores are the same, because the majority of them ARE. Believe me, or don't believe me - I really don't care.
