Five Seizures while we were away, why? My beautiful little girl Roxy had 5 seizures while we were away from her on vacation. She is only 5 months old. We intended to take her with our family, but we went out of the country, so we thought she would be better off with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, both of them animal lovers with no kids.
They told me she was walking around crying, then had the seizures in the middle of the night. They rushed her to the animal hospital and the hospital didn't charge them because they felt so bad for them.
The next day my in laws brought her to my vet. The vet did tests on her and kept her for the day to observe her. They found nothing.
We came home to this news and I was beside myself. Roxy was so mad at us she wouldn't even cuddle with us. Roxy is doing great now. It's been almost a week since we came home and I have not left her for a minute. No signs or symptoms of a shunt. She acts fine after eating.
My question is this: Is it possible she threw herself into the sezures because she was so upset? I know that sounds strange, but there doesn't seem to be any other explaination. Did this ever happen to anyone else?
Thanks for any suggestions.
