 Coccidiosis back...uugghhh!
Well, here we go again. My little guys is VERY sick again. My daughter (12 yars old) woke me up this morning telling me that the puppy was not well at all. He had bloody diarrhea in the night and threw up as soon as I got to him. He is VERY lethargic now and I am constantly checking his breathing. I am really concerned he won't make it. Just for everyone's future reference...coccidiosis takes about 13 days to show it's ugly head. This was important to me because it first showed up in this pup after I had him for only 4 days...which means that he had it when I got him. Thought it was cleared up after two days in puppy hospital (I.V. etc) and medication 2x day for the last week and 1/2. He was going strong...then yesterday I thought he was acting funny....overly lazy. For those of you that aren't sure what coccidiosis is go on to google and look it up. Very common in littler pups, like Yorkies. Wish us luck and hopefully we'll have good news later. |
