The standing joke in my family was 'if she can't do it 3 inch heels, Sherry Lynn ain't doin' it!'....
Mine weren't as bad as Villette's and it was the 3rd toe (and I was younger then!) so I healed up pretty quickly. I think it was a couple of weeks.
The one thing that I would do differently is to have it done in warmer weather so you can wear open shoes. I had mine done in the winter, and ended up getting an infection from wearing shoes and walking too early. And listen to them when they tell you to stay off your feet!!! I ended up adding to my down time because I wouldn't listen!
