Walking dogs on streets or sidewalks that have been salted burn their paws, speaking from experience. When I lived in the city I had 3 I had to walk twice a day, winters were bad because of the salt, they would try walking on 3 legs because salt got on their paws, I would gather all 3 in my arms carry them to areas that were not salted then carry them back home. Their paws must be washed in warm water to ensure all salt is off their paws.
