I told my vet the same thing, my dogs never walk in Petsmart, just held or in the cart. Vet said that doesn't matter, if a dog coughs or sneezes, any dog within 20 ft would be susceptible. They are really concerned about the whole thing. The vaccine isn't cheap either, $45 each time.
