Yorkies have gone up in price due to the demand for them. A lot of people have recognized this wonderful breed for all of it's fabulous qualities that we are all aware of and so they are in demand, hard to come by, and worth the prices being charged. The answer is economics 101 really. Everyone here knows how hard it is to find a good quality yorkie for any price.
It is a fact that the smaller than average yorkies, sometimes referred to as tinies, dwarf, mini, teacups or T-cups, are even more expensive because they are so small at birth that they require extra time and attention on the part of the breeder and the breeders have to keep them longer thereby incurring additonal expenses that are not there for a standard sized yorkie.
I applaud those breeders who take the extra time with these tiny ones to help them to thrive rather than "letting nature take it's course". These little guys are treasures as all yorkies are and deserve a great start in life despite their diminuitive size. They deserve to be compensated for 24/7 around the clock care for 6 weeks or more that is required.
I personally have no probelm with the cost of tinies or T-cup yorkies.....they are worth every penny.
