by-products are usually hoofs, lips, beaks, etc. they are used as a protein source. Whether it is chicken by products, beef by products, pork by products, it doesn't matter, they are by- products.... not meat.
Basically, animal by-products are what’s left of a slaughtered animal after the edible parts have been removed. They include the waste
2 of meat processing
not intended for human consumption. For example…
Feet
Backs
Livers
Lungs
Heads
Brains
Spleen
Frames
Kidneys
Stomachs
Intestines
Undeveloped eggs
If these parts are not refrigerated immediately after the animal is killed they cannot be used for human consumtion, but can be for pet food. Also, animals that arrive at the dog food plant dead on arrival cannot be used for human consumtion, but can be used in pet food.
Now, I don't know, but I stand by my decision not to feed by-products. The other thing... dogs with allergies probably shouldn't be eating any corn.
Just saying.
