I live in NJ, i have a double fence yard and i thought my dogs did not need the lyme vaccine, well that is until i found a tick on My son's little jack Russell rescue, i panicked, removed it and call the vet. since then my dogs have been getting the lyme vaccine, I also titer for the other vaccines, the only vaccine they get faithfully every 3 years is rabies and that is because is the law here in my state, I do have a lot of deer running around, so even with a double fence I got a tick in the yard. so you have to consider all that to protect your babies.
