It has become a reality that my girls will never be able to conduct themselves properly when allowed the freedom to the basement. So they don't get to come down here unsupervised. And our gate was dangerous because everyone stepped over it when going up or down because taking it down and putting it back was too much trouble
(we had it at the bottom because there are rails at the top the girls can get through) So dh built me a permanent walk through gate. I think it turned out pretty good.
