I am picking up my puppy next weekend (will be 8 weeks old by then)! Trying to do some shopping this weekend and debating if I want to have a metal crate or pet pen for my new boy.

Looked at Walmart and didn't seem like they carry a lot of options.

I am looking at

Midwest iCrate single-door crate 36 x 23 x 25
figured I can put the food and water in also so it will be his little man cave...
or get a

IRIS 4 panel pet pen (still trying to figure out what to do with the top as a lot of people said the dogs can easily climb out and the top mesh they sold separately is too loose)

Anybody with experiences on these product or suggestions how to manage to cover the top of the pet pen will be much appreciated!
