Of course they will run if they think they are in trouble. Calling a dog to you has to be on a reward system. You cannot speak loudly to a dog and expect it to come for punishment. Positive reinforcement is the best policy. Don't pay so much attention to what she does wrong as you do to what she does right. When she gets it right give her a healthy treat and lots of praise.
You have a combination of two very energetic breeds. The Jack Russell is an almost non stop energy little dog! You need to invest in some long exercise sessions for your little one or that dog is going to run you up a wall with it's antics. If it is penned up for hours while you are gone you need to take it out and give it a good brisk long walk or let it run for a while. These dogs want to be doing things. They need to run off the energy frequently. |
