Yorkies are pron to collapsing trachea and a collar can cause that if a leash is hooked to it. Collars are great for tags only but never hook the leash to it. There is no cure for collapsing trachea so if a dogs gets it has it forever and there have been cases bad enough where the dog has to be put down because they just can't breath but that's usually when they get older or if it is an extremely bad case.
