A friend asked to use my champion, Chopper for stud some years ago. Her Yorkie male was neutered, so he was no problem, BUT she had an unaltered Maltese. She promised she would not allow her Malt in the house..he would stay downstairs in her daughters basement apartment.

When the pups were born they were not 100% Yorkie..the gold was white. I knew her Maltese got to the Yorkie. My friend was so excited to have a champ-sired litter, it was hard for me to tell her I would not sign the AKC papers to register the litter..I dreaded it...but when I went to dock the tails at 4 days, my friend said she suspected an "accident" had happened...so she sold them as "Morkies"..if her male Yorkie was not neutered, who knows that they would have been...that is why many breeders insist on the bitch owner leaving the female until she goes out of heat if they have other males..we want to know our male actually sired the litter...and what breeder wants to pay for another breeders stud, when their male was the sire???
