I often think about that too, when I see things on the news about animals & all of a sudden people are eager to adopt them.
We had an incident in our area where a bag full of lab mix puppies was thrown out on the side of a road. A snow plow driver saw the bag move and stopped & discovered the puppies tied inside the bag, left to die in the freezing Michigan cold, & rushed them to a vet. The story was on the local news and so many people were calling in to adopt the puppies...yet there were lab mixes at the pound the past few weeks too. It concerns me that it seems like a kneejerk reaction in deciding they want a puppy, rather than a well thought out decision.
