Harley will be 6 months old in a few days and I am getting him neutered. I have some questions for those of you who have gone through this. I trust my vet but I am very nervous. He isn't to have any food of water the night before, and I understand why. He will get dropped off at 8AM and have to spend the night. I was told he doesn't eat or drink till next day. He is just 3 1/2 pounds and wonder if he should go that long without water or food. I didn't think to ask if he would have an IV for hydration. Is that common? I wanted to pick him up before they close on the day of surgery since no one stays all night at the vets but they said no. Did anyone bring your pup home same day? I could keep an eye on him if he were here with me. He is a calm dog already so I'm not worried about him being overly excited at home. Please help me be less worried. I just am not sure what is "normal" practice. Thanks!
