Hopefully, your vet explained how Benadryl has a really short 1/2-half and should be given 3-4x a day. You usually have to give any anti-hist a full 10-14 day trial before really evaluating its effectiveness.

If you want to give something only once per day, options for dogs are Claritin and Zyrtec .
