It may take a day or two to get his system going again after fasting for the surgery. Does he get up and walk around at all? If he's woozie on his feet, you may want to stay up and see that he wakes up every hour, and offer him a small amount of food and water. Also, if you can check his temperature, make sure he's not cold, sometimes they are a bit slow to work the anesthesia out of their systems. Once he's up and walking around fine and has his wits about him, he should be okay.
