i test by dipping my elbow about 3-4 inches in the water...after I adjust the temp--i dip the other elbow to check it again. I've always done this for my kids and my furbabies and then read body language...if im taking too long and they get cold, they start to shiver and if I add some more warm water, they quit. They stay perfectly still for me if its just right. I do same for sprayer to rinse.

I've just been curious if there was a magic number--there are for children, but its been so long since I had to bathe a baby that I forgot.
