Never owned a crate. Both my dogs sleep in bed with us and if they have to go during the night, they wake me up and I take them outside. During the day, when they were babies, we would take them out about every hour. They now both know the command "pee-pee now" and will go on command. #2 took awhile until we recognized the signs and their schedule. Usually within half an hour of eating. In the early morning I now know my little one who is just a year has to do #1 and #2. He will go outside, pee and come right back to the door. If I say, no, go back and go potty, he gets it and goes. Takes awhile, just be consistent. |
