The woman who tied a 6-year-old Yorkshire terrier to a hot stove and fatally burned the dog pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony aggravated animal cruelty.
Tanya Marie Martin, 38, was arrested Oct. 19 at her Lakewood apartment.
Police were called by a neighbor, who had seen smoke coming from the apartment and had gone to check on Martin. Inside, he heard the dog, Bobo, yelping and saw that the terrier was on fire. Bobo died of organ failure five days after the incident.
Martin will be sentenced June 4.
