I agree. With popularity come health and temperament problems.
One correction. It is not the puppy mill that is the problem. The AKC estimates that only 8% of all purebred dogs are sold through pet shops which get their supply of puppies from puppy mills.
The biggest producer of purebred puppies is the backyard breeder.
