We use a humidifier, through out our home, the air is so dry here. I had to quit using the fabric softener sheets or liquid fabric softener in the girls blankies, towels & clothing items, Prairie Bea and Dollie Dae was allergic big time to them  I only use unscented on our things and our bedding. I am allergic to the scented softeners 
The one thing that really helped the girls is the cowboy magic conditioner. They don't have any problem now with a static issue. It only takes a little bit and a brushing through their fur
