You're suppose to gradually phase out the old food but, I didn't. I kept forgetting to go buy the Canidae when I was running out of Royal Canin and then one day I was completely out. I wasn't gonna go buy another bath of Royal Canin just to phase it out. Meeko didn't get sick at all tho.
