Hmm, I don't think I would try it slower. I wouldn't try that one again at all. It could have been a reaction that is common or it could have been the MVD. Those symptoms are a sign that the liver was having a problem and steroids would not help that issue at all. It is hard to say though.
Have you tried the medicine that is used for human liver patients when they get itchy?
