there are a lot of better foods than Purina. And you may find he will like them better. Also, a lot of people home cook.

Also, you might want to learn more about foods at Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble - a 4 or 5 star would be good. A lot of yorkie owners avoid the 6 star foods as they are higher in protein which can be dangerous for some yorkies
