My dogs, both male and female are on Puppy food all the time because they are breeders and they need that extra nutrition. Once my gal is bred about half way thru the pregnancy, I start giving her wet puppy food an extra time or two a day. NO CALCIUM supplements until after they whelp and at that time, I also increase the feedings of wet.
