First and foremost...Welcome to YT.

I suggest having the pre-op bloodwork done to be sure that he is fine for the surgery. When he comes home he will be groggy and out of it for the first day. A little pain med goes a long way. He will be fine the next day but a bit sore. So be sure to give him the follow up meds and not let him jump around. After his suture removal it will be fine to give him a bath.
