The same thing must have happened to my Choupette as well, no tail whatsoever, just a tiny stub, and I keep her cropped all the time, plus she's got a very cottony thick coat so impossible to let it grow in, gets full of knots and she hates being groomed. She's the one in my avatar and we love her just as she is.
