I had regular car seat for Maxi but he would whine also so I went and got him console car seat. I tell you he has gotten a lot better! Maybe he thinks he is closer to me and I guess doesnt complain as much.
Usually he whines when I am stopping and going through signal lights if I am on the highway he is sleeping
When you do get a carseat just make sure you have it at home for a while so your baby will get use to it
