Congratulations on a successful whelp!
I feed 1/4 can science diet topped with cottage cheese once a day, and 1/3 cup of liquid milk replacement twice a day to control any calcium problems. Especially with such a big litter! It also helps Mom get back into some weight since she most likely looks starved at this point, lol
A warning about your heating pad. I had a friend lose a puppy that crawled down between the pad cover and pad, and died. She now puts velcro on the edges and seals it up completely.
I use a heat lamp at one end so that Mom can get away from it and a hook with chain that I can adjust up or down to adjust the temp on the babies.
I know that you've studied, but don't forget about the tail docking... I had someone PM me when their pups were 5 weeks old wondering when she should dock tails??
I especially appreciate the fact you did so much learning before the big day... Good job!!
Enjoy those babies!!
