I am from NC and used Melinda at the local SPCA. This SPCA is not federally funded it is funded by the community and donations only. Melinda is a dream!!!!!!! She is the hardest working lady that I know. I could never image my life without my babies. I knew that they had problems but also had no idea what a good home and real love were all about, well now they do!!!! Alot of people thought that I was crazy to adopt Missy the 9 year old with most of the health problems but she had such a horrible life and just needed someone to love and care for her. I would adopt another older yorkie in a minute, it has been the best experience of my life. I even got my parents in on the adoption thing. They adopted a mixed breed that is the apple of there eye now. My Mom says that she will only ever adopt in the future!! I tell everyone that I come in contact with about puppy mills and how the dogs are treated and to please look into adoption before they buy. And if they are going to buy them please research the breeder and do a site visit to see how the parents are cared for. I am in no way knocking breeders who are doing things the right way, I know there are some really great breeders but there are alot of really bad breeders also.
