Dog parks are not the only place a puppy can pick up diseases like Parvo and others before all shots are given. I had a dog get parvo when she was a little over a year old and just had her second booster. It was not deadly but she was very sick and had some bloody diarrhea. I never let my girls feet hit the floor at the Vet. or in any pet store, or any store for that matter. Even a person can track the Parvo virus into a home or place of business where a dog can walk. Each time at the motel or traveling that they go potty, I always wipe their feet afterwards with alcohol wipes. I don't know if that is as effective as bleach, but bleach isn't an option.
