i have worked at the local vet sense april they do at least 5-10 surgery per day mostly spay/neuters i have only seen 3 not recover from surgery out of this whole time one was a doberman with an auto immune disorder one a pom. blood clot and a cat had severe pancritieus <`` however it's spelled, and very little chance of survival to begin with....they do not require to pretest they do listen to the heart they are on a machine that monitors heart rates and breathing most tables aren't heated as they usually take 20 minutes or less depending on the type of surgerys done pretest only costs about $20 more i would say it's worth it but most pets do not have a problem going through surgerys there's always a risk though.
