She was also advertised to have champion lines, but the only champion is 3 generations back & only on the father's side. The breeder is noncommittal & says we got what we paid for ($1100.00), there is no guarantee on size & the one champion line is still considered to be champion lines. Anyone have any feedback on this? Thanks,

"Jonnie",
Don't be too discouraged about your new purchase. I think that if she is healthy, you have probably paid a fair price. Have you had Gypsy to the vet for an exam? Make sure she is healthy!!... as far as the size, let me tell you about my two.... I have 2 very sweet little Yorkies. They both were about 3-4 lbs at 16 weeks old. Now they are about 8 lbs ( 1 lb over the AKC standard). 8 pounds is still VERY little IMO!
By feeding them a good healthy diet, keeping them groomed & clean, I have gotten 2 of the best little buddies! They are healthy (no probs due to them being too small or frail) and just the greatest little dogs.
Please read more of the threads on YT. You will find that there is really good info on the Yorkie breed on this site. Many of us have Yorkies that tip the high end of the standard, as far as size. Some actually tip it over!!!.... but one thing about us who have "teapots".... we love them uncondtionally!!!
Good luck with your little Gypsy!
If you can, post some pics of her!! We would love to see her!
