[Izzy Princess]

OMG - I was just at the vet this past Monday with Izzy to have a look at her teeth (that's another story...lol), but anyway while I was in the vet's waiting area (he has his clinic divided in half where cats go to one side and doggies go to the other). On the doggie side they have that huge digital floor scale where I normally just place Izzy on to get weighed. Well for some reason I didn't place her on this scale - that goodness I didn't. While I was standing holding Izzy for our visit - I saw this young woman with this puppy sitting behind me (I was standing at the check-in counter) and I overheard her telling the vet tech that she was bringing her puppy in because it was throwing up and having bloody stools. Well then one of the other vets immediately came and whisked her to a totally different area of the clinic. Then I see the vet tech immediately take a bleach/water solution right to the scale and start mopping everywhere. They call us into the examining room and told us not to worry - they "think" this puppy might have Parvo and they were not taking any chances. Thank goodness I didn't put Izzy on that floor scale or put her down for any reason - she was in my arms the entire time and we were not in direct contact with this poor little puppy. I never knew the symptoms of Parvo until just then. I was freaking in the examining room but our vet was most reassuring that Izzy would be fine. I just hope that poor puppy is fine.

PS: they brought in a kitty scale to weigh Izzy so she was not in contact with anything nor were we that close to the puppy.
