My Gus is a little guy as well. Trying to guess how big your baby will get is only a guess. My breeder told me that Gus was going to be about 4 lbs. But he stood tiny. Any small dog is fragile. I wouldnt say they need more care then a 5,6,7, or 8 pounder. You do have to watch your step and look before you sit. Congrats on your new addition and welcome to YT.
I have to add,,,,,,, My 2.5 lbs. baby was attacked by a 75 lbs. German Shepherd a month ago and survived!!!
