Let me tell you when I took her back for her suture removal a week later (mind you also spaying is worse than neutering) the vet was signing her praises. He was going on and on about how much of a trooper she was in recovery. She was back to herself the very next day. So if you have the money now then do it. I think that if the marking gets too far gone you can't get him to stop. We had that problem with our yorkie male Lex. Then with him even after his damn neuter he continued marking in the house. If I had it to do again I would have done it before he was six months old.
