I think it is important to ask questions. Maybe attend a few shows to see how they dress for their shows. IABCA is more casual than AKC; I'm not sure about ARBA, NAKC shows. |
There are several books written by well known handlers that speak too appropriate dress code for the ring.....
While the dress is professional and should be to be a backdrop for your dog....there have been times, when I wasn't showing that a fellow exhibitor asked me to go in for them, since they were showing 2 dogs and both had won their class, and believe me jeans and tennis shoes are not appropriate dress....but, when there is a need, one must do what they gotta do.
